What does this mean for the lawsuit with 106.7 the fan and Espn. One would have to believe this goes even further to prove that Cumulus is guilty.

How? Please explain, I'm interested in your thinking...

Whatever happened to WSNR and their attempt to get on the air at 103.9 FM? About eight years ago I remember television spots and billboards with the station logo and 560AM and 103.9 FM both displayed. Once I picked up the 103.9 frequency in north Nashville, but it was a very weak signal.

WNSR does still own and operate WNTC 103.9 in Drakesboro, KY...about 75
miles northwest of Nashville. It's a class A running 2kw at 147 m
antennta height...and the signal reaches south to Russelville on a
good day. The plan a few years ago was to move WNTC to the tower
in Cross Plains, TN used by WUBT Russelville, which is about 50 miles
southeast of Drakesboro. Maybe that would put a city-grade signal to
Drakesboro: if so it would put a city-grade signal as far as Murfreesboro,
too...in theory. Whether this tower move/upgrade was ever applied for
is a mystery to me...but the Nashville Sounds were told the WNSR signal
would be on FM back when WNSR broadcast their games. Oops.
Ever notice WNSR's main telephone number? It ends in 1039. Hmmmmmm.<P ID="signature">______________
but wait...there's more!</P>

Speaking of missing signals, for some reason I remember a signal that was half way decent in Nashville on 93.3? Does my memory serve me correct or do I just blame it on the fun I had back in the 80's? For some reason I remember it being from somewhere south of Murfreesboro?

Nock

The signal on 93.3 came from Telahoma. They changed the direction of the signal. The city of Huntsville AL is closer to the signal so that's who the station serves. I understand that it plays an Urban format specificly HipHop.

I remember that station too. They were a CHR format with the nickname Boogie 93. They once had the big billboard ad at Five Points area West End/Broadway/16th Avenue. One of the programs Boogie 93 had was a radio countdown of the top weekly music videos. Videos on radio, interesting concept.

> WNSR does still own and operate WNTC 103.9 in Drakesboro,

WNTC is off the air and has been for awhile. (103.9 is my best meteor-scatter channel these days<grin>!)

I've certainly heard some, shall we say, "interesting", things on 103.9 around here over the years... one thing I assumed to be a mixing product between the WNSR AM signal and WKDF, but now I'm not so sure anymore...

Chris,
I checked the Commission's Data Base on WNTC, and there is no application on file showing that Randy Bell filed a application to move WNTC. He may have had plans to do this, but he never filed a application with the commission.
As you know, the commission won't let him move that if it is the only aural service to Drakesville, KY.
And, I find it strange that I heard a weak signal on 103.9, near downtown, with 560's programming on it a few years ago.
