Sports Animal 97.1

> Wasn't the tower further north at one time??

I'm not sure. I wasn't thinking it was as I can remember getting it along the US-75 corridor until KEGL from Dallas finally overpowered it between Durant and the Texas state line as far back as 1988. However, FCC records indicate it did have some kind of minor modification application in 1999. So, it's possible there was a transmitter move.

Re: Mix of Tulsa and OKC shows

From what I hear they will only add one other local show, which is fine with me because it's the Animal shows that make this so attractive. Regards to TU and ORU aside it's OU and OSU that make for good radio and no one covers them better than the Animal. Al does a great job with the local scene anyway. Also, from what I could sniff out several local sports franchises, from high school to semi-pro have already called them about carrying games. Remember KMMY already had the Oilers this year and their sister station carried B.A. Football. Also, KMMY may be 60 miles away, but from what I can tell it's going to be one of the tallest towers in the state, and all they have to do is cover the south half of Tulsa to have a sizeable audience. I get it pre-upgrade right now loud and clear and I drive from south Tulsa to Bartlesville regularly. I do not lose it in the car til way north....
