SPORTS ANNOUNCERS - Pronunciation lesson

Hi folks..

Two weeks of the greatest tennis in the world is gracing TV and radio right now, from Jolly Ol' England!..

If you are an announcer of any sort on the radio or TV and presenting results from this competition, you need to know the place is called WimbleDon - with a D - NO T, I've already heard WIMBLETON on the Score and Channel 10..

This incorrect pronunciation really does affect your credibility.. But then you probably say GREEN-wich instead of GREN-itch.. (phoenetically spelled to help the challenged among us!)

So sports folks repeat after me.. WimbleDUN, WimbleDUN...

Okay, nice job, - rant over!

Jazzy

Rant taken Jazzy. Now why is the tribe Wampa-no-ag & the trail Wompanog?

PS: I do agree with you.

The part we call The Trail, is actually The East Shore Expressway!

I think a lot of sports media people just followed their passion for sports & it took them into TV or radio, so it's sports first & broadcasting second. Now do you want to buy some relaty or joolary?
