Sports Programming for Sunday September 12

I found out about this from the WFAN Twitter feed. At 1 PM on Sunday Sept 12, the Giant game will be heard on WFAN while the Mets will be moved to WBBR. Now this makes sense. Apparently the Mets volunteered to make this move since the contract gives them preference for WFAN. The season is over for them anyway.

The right thing to do. The Mets are irrelevant now and the Giants opening up on FAN is the way to go. It also keeps CBS FM going.

CBS-FM fans will be just fine next Sunday Sept 19 also. The Mets are scheduled for 1 PM, the Giants at 8 PM. Both games will air on WFAN. :)

:) Great news!!! does not belong on wcbsfm!!! will any be on afterwards? I hope not!!!

Sun Sept 26 is a Mets/Giants conflict, but the Yankees don't play until 8 PM, so the Giants game could be transfered to WCBS-880. Or it could be Giants on 660 AM and the Mets on 1130 AM.

Sun Oct 3 is the final day (officially) of the Mets' season. Definitely no conflict that day, the Mets game is at 1 PM, the Giants play at 8:30 PM. No reason both games wouldn't air on 660 AM. :)

What does WFAN do when Devils and Nets overlap each other?

The Devils have priority on WFAN. When the Devils overlap the Nets, the Nets game gets transfered to 1130 AM or 1190 AM. CBS Radio does not own the Devils and Nets contracts, those teams pay for the time.

CBS does own the Giants and Mets rights. Some negotiating had to have taken place with the Mets for yesterday's game to be transfered to 1130 AM. Don't know what might've taken place. :)

Hell, they may as well moved that game to 92.3 HD-2, and have MLB allow WFAN to stream the game for free on their stream. I mean, seriously, how many people would have listened to a meaningless game that they probably lost, anyway?

Still, good move on CBS' behalf. It would make absolutely no sense to have the Giants' home opener off of WFAN in favor of a meaningless Mets game. I wonder if CBS got holy hell from the Giants after the first preseason game was bumped from WFAN.

If CBS got heck cause WFAN bumped the first preseason Giants game thats just stupid. Its a preseason game come on now

Agreed! Pre-season games don't count in the standings or with advertisers. The Giants aren't going anywhere. WEPN is Jets country and the Giants would have nothing to do with them or their directional signal. :)
