Sports Radio back in ENC???

um. well.

In Greenville/New Bern/Kinston you have 1070, they run Sporting News Radio at night and on the weekends. you've also got 1250/930, they have Jim Rome, Packman, lots of local sports, and ESPN radio.

Wilmington has ESPN but I've not a clue what frequency

So, it never left, how can it be back?

It's 630AM. I'm not aware of any local programming though. I think it runs mostly ESPN network stuff, except for maybe a couple of hours per day.

The rumor is that an existing station in the New Bern/Greenville market is fliiping to sports.

Didn't this market have 4 ESPN Radio affiliates a few years back before they were all broken up and sold off?

There are people talking about adding sports... but I will not release that info yet. There also has not been a lot of movement yet.

I heard something about an annoucement later this week in the Greenville/New Bern market - has anyone else heard this?

What station(s) could it be?

Did they announce something? Their stream is still MOR, which they've done really well with.

I apologize for the confusion the station is actually WWNB-AM 1490 which flipped last Friday to ESPN Radio 24/7.

The links are in the process of being changed on the WWNB website.

It appears the former GM of ESPN Radio in Kinston, New Bern, Jacksonville and Greenville is at the helm again.

They are doing all of the New Bern Bears games as they did football on WNOS.

Monday through Friday, 4p-6p- Drive Time Sports with Bullet Bob

Yuck. What a terrible time slot for a sports talk show in Wilmington. The town isn't that big. What's the average commute home? 15 minutes? I thought there was a local midday show on over there. At least there was the last time I drove through the area. What happened to that?

Is that the same Bullet Bob that was on WAAV years ago?
