Sports radio in Houston

What is going on with all sports radio in Houston? First we hear that 97.5 would be ESPN, but now we hear they may not make the switch after all or they will switch to something else?

That signal is awful anyway. I am picking up a spanish station on my home radio at 97.5.

The move of ESPN to 97.5 is still on as far as I know. My guess is 1/17/07 for a launch date. I recall that 790 was supposed to launch 1/17/05 when their ESPN contract came into force, although they wound up hitting the air four weeks earlier. I would guess that deal was for two years, thus my date for the move.

If you are getting Spanish on 97.5 your radio has severe mixing problems, or you are very near one of the FM transmitter sites. 97.5 does fine at my Cy-Fair location.
