Max Kellerman and Marcellus Wiley will soon be gone from the KSPN airwaves:

Tweet: @SPORTSbyBROOKS After I lauded midday Max & Marcellus Show on ESPN 710 in LA last week told by sources ESPN mgmt plans to ditch the show soon

It's hard to be just as irritating as the Canons, but Max and Marcellus were definitely up to the task.

And really, there are 4 in the LA/OC area if you throw in KAVL in Lancaster which does get into the metro,

A little clarification... Lancaster, Palmdale and every other part of LA County are in the LA Metro. I know it seems like the Antilope Valley is a separate market, but it isnt.

Yes, poor choice of words. I meant that the signal gets into the basin - obviously, Lancaster is part of both LA County and by extension, the metro.

Lancaster is actually in Kern County. Palmdale is in Los Angeles county.

I'm going to be "that guy."

Lancaster is in L.A. County, and that city is right next to Palmdale, both of which are in the Antelope Valley.

That's just idiotic, so I guess it's ok to say what you want so long as it's not about any of the teams that brodcast on your station or well so long as it's positive right?
Kiss our asses all you like but the minute you want to become a real broadcaster and tell it like it is or how you see it if we don't like it then we're going to complain and demand that you be censored.
Maybe Max & Marcellus should check in with Pat Haden every time they want to talk about USC, see if he approves of what they might say, heck he may even want to give them talking points to stick to since his and other Trojans feelings get hurt when the big, mean broadcasters say bad things about them...
Yes... and while we're at it maybe Haden would like a bubby, teddy bear and comfy blankie to lay down with while he soothes his hurt feelings.
What a crock! Grow a set Pat! if your school didn't have a poor academic record as it pretains to your athletes than they'd have NOTHING to say on the subject!
Look in the mirror and do what's necessary to clean up your program both academically and institutional control wise!

Looks like you didn't read the article. Not only were the comments out of line and inappropriate on the USC flagship station (and if they're to ignorant to figure that one out...), but the comments were not factually correct. Having a negative opinion about the school may not get you kicked off the air, but spreading lies and falsehoods do. They got what they deserved. Next time, to put it in scholastic terms, maybe Max and Marcus should do their homework.

I meant Marcellus. I know his name is not Marcus.

The way their show is going, having someone other than Marcellus, even a random Marcus would probably make the show more enjoyable. As of right now, Marcellus seems as out of place as a scooter in the fast lane on the 405.

Cool!

I have always enjoyed Vin Scully's play-by-play more when I can actually HEAR him. The better signal at 570 will help a lot in this area.

And those midweek afternoon games that will knock the Cannons off the air? Well that's like killing two birds with one stone.

And the dividends start paying off today. I'm not a big fan of Rick Monday's broadcasting*, but he sounds like a symphony orchestra in place of Hartman, O'Brien, and Brick, and that is what I heard today on 570. Well played KLAC!

* But I am a BIG fan of his historic play making in April 1976 (Rescuing the flag) and October 1981 (Rescuing the Dodgers). I saw the flag rescue in person from just behind the 1st base dugout. Awesome.

KSPN 710 goes from 1.9 to 1.4 and KLAC 570 0.6 to 0.4. How do Michael Thompson and Don Martin keep their job?

It's a disaster, but they are somehow still filling ad spots. Today, right before "cross-talk" on KSPN, Ramona/Mark ended their segment around 11:48am and they came back on air around 11:57am. A bunch of national companies and they ran two IBM business tech commercials. Guess as an affiliate they have to run those as part of the contract.

Locally, Langers has apparently cut back a little, as has the electronics guy (whom I don't recall the name because the buffoon sidekick from 3-6pm clowns around too much during live reads).

With the Lakers sinking into the Pacific, people have turned off the station and the dream year that Mike Thompson thought would happen with USC/Lakers, has become a dwightmare.

Meanwhile on the other station, Don Martin still has a job because there's a little ring on Robin's finger that sort of allows him to hang onto the gig. The Loose Cannons national show with POB in the forefront now is unlistenable. The local hour with PMS is passable, but I don't even bother to listen when they go nationwide at 4pm.

LA Sportsradio is dead.

This is the Holiday book. Not used for sales, and generally unfriendly to all forms of talk radio.

The 6+ numbers are fairly useless for sports stations, which are basically 100% 25-54 male plays.
