Sports Radio NY on WGBB

New York is a tough market when it comes to sports talk. At www.sportsradiony.com we are trying to differentiate ourselves a bit by doing feature interviews with former New York athletes not typically heard from on the major stations. Guys like former Met Craig Swan, former Yankee Hensley 'Bam-Bam' Meulens, former Ranger Carey Wilson, former Islander Brad Dalgarno, former Jets Bruce Harper and Ken O'Brien... just tio name a few. Curious to know if sports fans are interested in hearing from guys like this? Getting there take on things, while seeing what they are up to today... Comments and suggestions welcome...

Former Rangers Andy Bathgate and Harry Howell recently interviewed on NY Hockey Talk located at http://www.sportsradiony.com/Shows/NYHT.htm.

You would have to get Ruth, Gretzky and Jordan if you want me to tune in on a sunday night.

C'mon now! We have had some decent guests; Bryan Trottier, Pierre Turgeon, Darryl Strawberry, Ryan Callahan, David Lee, Zach Randolph, Clyde Frazier, John Starks, Brandon Jacobs, Ken O'Brien, Boomer Esiason, Scott Brosius, to name a few.... alot of former Mets and Yankees you won't here from on the FAN too, all have some interesting insights and opinions.

I personally enjoy hearing from older players- current players just give you the same old stuff- "we have to work harder"... "we have to shhot the puck"... "we have to play better defense"... the older guys have interesting stories to tell and different perspectives...

If you dont want to listen live Sunday nights, all the shows are podcasted AND available for download from the site; individual interviews can also be heard if you dont want to listen to an entire show...

All the hosts work hard at doing a good show; I think you would enjoy some of it if ya give it a chance...

PS- We'll work on getting Jordan and Gretzky; Ruth might be tougher, although we did have his granddaughter on a show!
