I was wondering Hmmmmmm
The Phillies are on the radio, The Eagles are on the Radio, The Flyers have been on the radio, I don't know if any Sixers games have been on the radio.
I was wondering if anyone thinks that a Wings game or even the Philadelphia Barrage ( outdoor lacrosse ) would work on the radio. has there ever been any other sports on the radio?

Wings are awesome but I think they need to be experienced live. Dunno how well the outdoor Lax would play on the radio either. Glad to see the Barrage kept their name as the moved out of Bridgeport, CT

Back in the early '70's WVPO (then AM & FM) in Stroudsburg used to broadcast local bowling matches from the Colonial Lanes!

Your kidding? Philadelphia has a wonderful radio history with the Big 5. Temple sports for a long time on WRTI and recently WCAU and WPHT. PSU football on WFIL.

My favorite radio play by play voice of all time was Don Henderson with the Temple Basketball radio network BINGOOO!!!

WCAU???? that radio station has been WOGL since 98.1 flipped to WOGL back in the 80's.

Incidently They play a great game, regretably they didn't make the playoffs this year. However, they use Vinnie The Crumb as their stadium announcer. Remember him from "The Philly Guys" on 93.3? I'd love for someone to pick up that action and have Vinnie back on the air with the Philly Barrage. You know what else, that Body-by-Jake guy is a part owner of the whole outdoor Lax league that the Barrage are a part of.

Wow Man, Bowling??? That game is fun to play in person, and it sucks to watch on TV because all the damn announcers speak Reallllly soft and quite. I can only imagine how much of a snorefest it must have been to call a bowling tourney on the radio. I wonder just how stoned the announcers were ehen they called the game, becaue listening to a bowling game is only for stoned people, who else could vibe on that kind of material? that's right up there with broadcasting a Golf match up. I wonder when or if any of the south philly boxing action would ever be on-air?

Re: Sports Radio...wcau???

WRONG! WOGL was WCAU-FM. WCAU is now 1210 WPHT. And in their full service days, they did a lot of play by play sports. Some years they had all four pro teams plus several colleges. But at one time or another, all the major teams and events were on CAU radio.
