i really hope the rumor of a possible 104.1 flip to sports is true. 1210 is the worst sports station on the planet. where did they get these people? does anyone really listen? jimmy ott is one of the most boring people i have ever heard on the radio. and why did 1300 go urban talk instead of going back to sports? the last ratings 12+ show a dismal showing for this station. only station lower is 1380. thoughts??anyone else feel the same? also has 1210 flipped from espn to fox sports? if so..why?

I have to take up for the Little Otter. At least he doesn't talk about how many "points" a baseball team scores instead of runs. To me, 1210 is worst in the morning and gets progressively better throughout the day. Ott's probably average, but he's head and shoulders better than the rest of that station.
I work in BR and get to here all these shows first hand. I agree that something has to be done with it. It is not quality radio at all. The shows dont sound professional. The callers talk for way to long. I think that maybe one or two of them should stay around. The morning show is bad. Jon Fine just puts me to sleep. There is no entertainment. The 11-12 show is pretty bad. One guy on their knows absolutlely nothing about sports. It's really amazing how little he knows. Maybe its an act. His partner seems to be knowledgable but all he does is brought down by the other half. 12-2 is an LSU info show basically. It is some ignorant callers ranting and raving. 4-6 is atleast listenable. It really isn't entertaining, but at least it has correct info.
I think Ott and the one of the 11 oclock guys should hang around. I think that those two possess the most knowledge in sports. Everyone else is just a pay for play host that really doesn't do anything to show me that they warrant being on the air. Its really sad actually. Its ashame that CC doesnt do more with the only sports talker in town.
For the record, just about every local show on 1210 is pay for play.And the Score now has both ESPN and Fox Sports Radio affiliations. FSR came to 1210 after 1300 blew up. Basically, Fox Sports airs overnights and certain weekend hours, with ESPN the rest of the way.Why 1300 didn't go back to sports is beyond me. I mean, they still simulcast 106.5 FM during the weekends! (At least, they did the last time I scanned the dial.) It's obvious no one cares about that station - in fact, the entire AM side of Citadel is now in bad shape, considering the rump-kicking WXOK is now getting thanks to 104.1.Having seen the numbers for 104.1 in BR, I wouldn't be surprised to see the sales inventory turned over there completely. However, it needs to be seen if that was a one book thing or the beginning of a trend.
I also hear that 104.5 may become a news/talk/sports station. They need to get more professional guys on sports radio. They need to have more professional shows.
I am not a listener of this station, so I have no opinion of it either way. But I must respond to the above quote. It seems that from your post that you listen, and quite often for long periods at a time. It also seems like a few others here listen quite often.smashedcd said:
