SPORTS RATINGS SHOCKER

The Fan 3.1 1,043,400
The Ticket 3.0 443,000
ESPN 2.9 758,100

I don't have the Men 25-54 numbers but this is not what I was expecting... Is this Rangers driven? Or has The Fan become the real deal?

We're seeing the same thing in the SF Market, however KNBR has jumped two shares since the end of the world series, and is now at a 7.2

Does this mean "The Fan" is no longer "The Fail"? ::)

Here are the numbers for Men - 25-54 (Mon-Fri 6a-7p).

ESPN is up a full share from October, but the fan is still way behind KTCK.

Station Name Oct-10 rnk Nov-10 rnk
KTCK-AM 7.8 1 7.7 1
KESN-FM 4 8 5 4
KRLD-FM 3.4 12 4 7t
KTCK-AM Stream1.6 23t 1.5 26t

How you can really tell that it was just the world series is this:

Men - 25-54 (Mon-Sun 6P-Mid) - 6PM til Mid late Oct into Nov pumped the numbers.

Station Name Oct-10 rnk Nov-10 rnk
KRLD-FM 4.4 4 9.3 1
KESN-FM 3 12 5.6 4
KTCK-AM 2.1 23 1.9 22t
KTCK-AM Stream 0.1 43t 0.2 40t

That, or they have a REALLY GOOD show on evening, late nights. But since KTCK's numbers went from a 3.0 to a 5.6, the trend up just means the audience switched from KRLD back to KTCK once the series ended.

So, no mucicman, it's still "The Fail" - just a little less failure when the Rangers are winning.

My source inside the "Mothership" said 'check out the weeklies".

From what I'm told, this is the Fans high point. This was mid October thru November 10th. So Fan had 4 cowboys games, NASCAR race in town, and the ALCS and world series.

And in the weeklies since Nov 10th, their ratings have nose dived. Especially at nights, which is bound to bring down their overall (m-su or M-f 6a-mid) numbers.
