Considering the state of sports talk in this town, Ive turned elsewhere to get my fix. I dont know how much some of you are into the sports talk scene, but I recently came across a guy on 1540 The Ticket in LA who I think is the most entertaining host since Rome. His name is Petros Papadakis and he also does analyst work on FSN for Pac 10 games. He also went to USC and played football there around the year 2000.

This guy brings energy, enthusiasm and most importantly ENTERTAINMENT. While there really isnt anyone in Cleveland sportstalk today whos show you feel like you CANT miss, this guy is the opposite. Its not even about the topics being discussed - its about the presentation and the overall entertainment value of the show. Thats what so many people in this market fail to realize.

Even though he mainly talks about LA and USC sports, (when hes not feuding with Tony Bruno) I listen to P every day over the other alternatives in Cleveland.

If you want to check out Petros Papadakis aka "P" go over to www.1540theticket.com. Hes on 3-5 eastern time and its streamed over the net.

Most entertaining sports talk I've heard in a while. Boy do I wish we could get something like this in Cleveland...

I enjoy the local angle. I like the programming on the fan, some of it is cheesy, silly, and somewhat folksy, but it is local. I cannot say the same about KNR, and really cannot understand how it has not changed with the times. Has Rizzo reached puberty yet? I used to listen to him, but I guess I have aged, hopefully he will catch up.

You must be Petros' agent.

1540 KNR2--when they were a Fox Sports affiliate--carried the "Petros and Money" show in the evenings (well during the spring and summer months anyway).

Not a good show, too LA-centric, and it was no big loss when the show disappeared after 1540 lost FSR to be a fulltime ESPN affiliate.

I've seen Petros on TV, and he's your basic loud obnoxious frat boy jock turned talking head--they were there before him, they'll be there after him.

The difference between the Fan and KNR is this--92.3 is more about nuts and bolts sports talk, and 850 is more about conflict sports talk.

You must have really gone digging to find this thread! Guy probably isn't even Petros' agent anymore either :)
