Sports with reverb

I turned on the zone this morning. I was listening through head phones and noticed that they've turned their reverb on.

Why, why, why would the Zone use segments of their replay hour of Mark Howard mono droning and dominating the show. It is a click OFF when he starts dominating and rambling on and on and on. He never shuts up and never lets anyone else talk. If you listen when others are talking, you'll hear him trying to start to talk and butt in constantly until they finally stop talking and he starts going and going again. He is aweful and depressing. He is so negative. He cuts everyone down, talks down to everyone and just doesn't shut up and tells you everything about everyone that he knows. He keeps calling people fat, but he is the fattest person on television in Nashville. Look in the mirror.

Could they have been in a sports arena with the program audio being fed over the PA system (thus bleeding back through to the host's mic)?

Aah, a relic from the past. I remember when 107.5 (Y107) had their signal bathed in 'verb back in the 80's. Sounded quite nice :) One time, they rebroadcasted a serious news event (I think it was the Challenger explosion) from ABC television on the station. . .with reverb and all. It was interesting to hear Peter Jennings with a long decay plate reverb preset on his voice.

Are there any other stations in Nashville that use reverb these days?

The river still has pretty heavy reverb.. Oldies 96.3 used to have reverb before flipping to jack.
