Sports!

Anyone know if and/or where I might find recordings of classic games? I'm an Orioles fan and would love to relive the '66, '70 and '83 World Series. Other sports would also be fun to listen to. NFL, NASCAR, Big college games.

Any ideas?

ESPN has a library. They played a game from the 1965 World Series a while ago. I got to see Sandy Koufax pitch a complete game and give up two runs.

I have 1969 World Series games but I don't think you would be interested in those.

I MAY have some NFL playoff games on cassette that was sent to me. I had a whole box of them, but they are of no interest to me, so I reused many of the tapes, though I know I have some left. Let me know if you have any interest in them.
______________

Matt, Although I'm not a sports buff, I'd be interested if they are games of the Giants and/or Jets. I might also be interested for the classic commercials content if they have them. Do they?

John, I don't remember. I'll have to check over the weekend and get back to you. I'm pretty sure one set is the Giants, and the other may be the Jets.
______________

I will answer as best I know, but first I want you to know that the 1969 World Series was one of the greatest events in my life.

I watched those games. They have been shown during quiet times such as Christmas Eve or New Year's Day. I am pretty sure that I have 1965,1968 and 1969 games recorded.

Just think of what the Cubs went through in 1969. They still have not recovered.

Let's Go Mets!

I have the ESPN broadcast on VHS tape. It is one of the games, maybe Game Four or Five. I think Jerry Koosman was pitching. They did skip a few innings to make it fit into a certain timeframe. The innings that they through out would have been less exciting, though every minute of the 1969 series was exciting.

I am sure that someone will have it for sale. Have you checked ESPN or Major League Baseball? There are a bunch of unofficial NY Mets websites and there may be some for sale there.

I worked for a guy in Manhattan who had every game on VHS since 1982. He has it.
And I have seen his video tape collection.
