SportsRadio 95.7 Makes Midday Change

Never Mind there guest hosts, I should have known since they had a best of on 98 Rock this morning, but SportsRadio 95.7 is off the affilate list on the Rob Arnie and Sports website

Speaking of Sportsradio 95.7, When is this station actually going to get a website? Its been the same banner since they launched almost 3 months ago.

Brandon Tierney was most recently with 1050 ESPN New York (WEPN-AM) co-hosting with Jody McDonald from 1-3pm. The show was dumped in April 2011 to make way for NY Daily News columnist/ESPN Sports Reporters panelist Mike Lupica from 2-3pm and Ryan Ruocco & Robin Lundberg from Noon-2pm. Prior to that Brandon hosted shows in the evening & middays. He had also appeared as a pre- & post-game host for NY Knick games on Madison Square Garden (MSG) Cable TV and more recently appeared on "The WheelHouse", a sports themed panel show on SportsNet New York (SNY) Cable TV.

He announced on Twitter within the last few days that he's leaving NY for San Francisco:

BrandonTierney Brandon Tierney @
@DaGaMe2260 PM Drive @ Sports Radio 95.7 FM. Former 49'er
CB Eric Davis is my partner...2-6pm. Show launches August 1.

Further info on the station's lineup & relaunch on Mon. 8/1/11:

John Lund will be in the 10am-2pm slot. John's formerly from Portland, OR's "750 The Game" KXTG (http://www.750thegame.com/).
Dan Dibley (late of KNBR) will join the station as well.

The Rob, Arnie & Sports Show is off the KBWF schedule. Show link: http://www.robarnieandsports.com/
On the 2 stations where it's currently heard (flagship KCTC Sacramento & KPLY Reno), it'll be moving from 1-3pm PT to 4-6pm PT.

John Lund is awful on the air -- how does this guy keep finding jobs? The morning show he did in Detroit at WXYT (when it was still exclusively an AM station) was brutal.

Tierney is capable of doing entertaining radio, but I'm not so sure he'll be a good fit for the S.F. market.

Overall, I think KNBR has little to be worried about.

I'm hearing that the 'Rise Guys', from Sacramento are coming to Sports 95.7!

No!!!! Where'd you hear that? Is it word on the street? Did somebody closely associated with the situation say something about it?

Seriously??? Wow!!! Somebody beat me to posting it there? I must be slipping.

Don't know much about "The Rise Guys" but it's another indication SportsRadio 95.7 is serious about making a run at KNBR. Entercom won't let 95.7 languish for long.

KBWF is equipping itself to make a run at long-time Bay Area sports leader KNBR, not only by bringing in talent but also being on FM. KBWF could force KNBR to simulcast on FM but only time will tell if that happens. :)

I was thinking the same thing. Just wondering which frequency that KNBR would be on? 97.7/104.5 or 107.7?

IMHO, I'd think 107.7 since 49ers games are already simulcast there. :)

It was announced this afternoon that Brandon Tierney will join Eric Davis in PM Drive, anyone know anything about this guy?

Brandon Tierney sat in studio with Mike Francesa on WFAN-AM-660 New York (also simulcast on cable TV on the YES Network) for nearly 1 hour (2:05-3:00pm) on Wednesday 7/20/11. Audio links below. Podcast running time is 39:31, though your player may vary.

His eventual morning show replacement on WXYT-AM was "The Opie & Anthony Show". :-\
