Have you ever heard of changing formats on a Friday?

1010 goes back to sports taking Tony Bruno from 1470. So why is 1470 still playing Bruno's show.

Wouldn't you just drop it now? Outta sight, outta mind.

The Sport Chix opposite Big Dog in afternoon drive. Are there enough guys that drving home wanting to hear Chix talking dirty?

Now what's your prediction on how long 3 Tampa Bay Sports Stations will last. 6 months? One year?

Go on Sportsradio 1470's message board. They get ZERO posts other than a girl named Holly and the Chief. It's soo sad. They're signal is so weak.

1010 doesn't have much coprorate backing so it'll be interesting to see which station emerges as the number 2 behind the Sports Animal.

I can pick up WDAE 620 as clear as can be, but both AM 1470 and AM 1010 dont come in hardly at all where im at in Zerphyhills.
 
Isn't very strange to start a format on a Friday? What will the lineup be? I'm so glad that my beloved SportChix are coming back too! I miss hearing them on the radio especially my beloved BL! ;) ;D

I find it really strange that the signal is so weak. Here in North Pinellas, 1470 comes in as the clearest signal on the AM dial. It even sounds like the volume is pumped up too high sometimes! My radio bleeds when I put that station on. Perhaps the transmitter is just south of here?

Al Keck 6-9 AM
Sporting News Radio 9-3
Sports Chix 3-6PM

I'm not so sure what you're happy about. The Chix are going head to head with Deumig in the 3-6 "death slot."
 
Also, 1010 keeps Yankees baseball and NASCAR, as well as expanded Westwood One coverage with college football/basketball on Saturdays and of course, non-market NFL on Sundays.
 
I thought Tony Bruno will also gonna have a show too? Does this start this Friday 8/11? What will be on after the Chixs? I don't care if there gonna go against Deumig,I just am GREATFUL they are back on! :) ;) 8)

If this is true, this kinda makes sense in todays radio world.

Start a sports format when football starts...Kill it after the NCAA Hoops Tourney and before baseball...um...except the Yankees of course.

"Flashback" is the name of your radio show? Have you run this by The ABC Radio Network? I think their lawyers might want to talk to you. Bill St. James has been doing a syndicated show for them called Flashback for the past twenty years.

Perhaps if they start playing it in the Tampa market, you might actually have squatter's rights. Hmm... Dr. Johnny P. Lovetrain vs The ABC Radio Network. There's a fight I'd like to see!
 
Hot Heather Young will be live at Hooters on Hillsbrough along with the 2 other Chix Friday to do their first show back on the air.

Can you imagine all those redneck Mullets stopping by Hooters for cold beer instead of sweating out in the parking lot fawning all over her?

R&R says WQYK will be the home of NY Yankees baseball - how do they get away with that, with the Devil Rays? I thought MLB regulations prohibited airing another teams games within a market with their own team?
 
For years the Pittsburgh pirates have been on radio in Bradenton. There is probably an exception for the home of their spring training
 
I don't know why I'm doing their work for them at Sports1010.

They've spent absolutely zero dollars on promotion for this switch back to sports on Friday.

The Chix will do their first show Friday on remote at Hooters. Keck will be there prior to the Chix also debuting his show.

Like I said earlier. Keck 1-3
Chix, including the beautiful Heather, 3-6.

If you didn't read this board would you know about all of this?
