Sportstalk Network Thoughts

So we are now a few months into the sportstalk network experiment. Does anyone else feel like they abandoned Cleveland? I mean sportstalkcleveland.com started it all and 99% of the people who listen are clevelanders. So does cleveland care about the pittsburgh steelers or chicago bulls? NO!
Also the talent level at the station is "okay" at best. Its a bunch of kids from the Ohio Center for Broadcasting who are trying and doing their best while breaking into the business. But theres no solid personalities there. Not even a Matt Lode or Mike Catan. I think their break away from WKNR was a big mistake.
Bruce Drennen has also been a big miss. I don't think its any coincidence that he has been run out of what like 5 different stations in Cleveland. He is the most conceeded man in the Cleveland market (outside of maybe Lanigan or Triv). Do you really need to be introduced as a broadcast hall of famer every single day? And the audience interaction is next to none. It's like listening to Bruce give 2 hours of his opinion which is usually way off.
Overall if they get a few established names in there and get rid of Drennen and refocus back on Cleveland I think they may be alright. Let an established name like Greg Brinda take over and run it.

I used to listen every day all day and e-mail all the shows. Now I only listen every once in a while.

It is what it is. Sportstalk doesnt want to be Cleveland anymore, they think that they can be ESPN. Whatever, i dont think anyone cares. I like their morning show host and their afternoon show with Nick and Reid. Otherwise, its a bunch of crap.

And I agree on Drennan. He's a miss. Was great on the radio with callers talking Cleveland but now hes totally out of his element. Oh well sportstalk net will probably get more pub whenever they haul Bruce away to jail.

Longtime lurker on this board...

Just curious what you think about some of the nighttime shows, which are different each evening. I'm involved with one of them, and would love any feedback you have about which ones you like and don't like.
