So we are now a few months into the sportstalk network experiment. Does anyone else feel like they abandoned Cleveland? I mean sportstalkcleveland.com started it all and 99% of the people who listen are clevelanders. So does cleveland care about the pittsburgh steelers or chicago bulls? NO!
Also the talent level at the station is "okay" at best. Its a bunch of kids from the Ohio Center for Broadcasting who are trying and doing their best while breaking into the business. But theres no solid personalities there. Not even a Matt Lode or Mike Catan. I think their break away from WKNR was a big mistake.
Bruce Drennen has also been a big miss. I don't think its any coincidence that he has been run out of what like 5 different stations in Cleveland. He is the most conceeded man in the Cleveland market (outside of maybe Lanigan or Triv). Do you really need to be introduced as a broadcast hall of famer every single day? And the audience interaction is next to none. It's like listening to Bruce give 2 hours of his opinion which is usually way off.
Overall if they get a few established names in there and get rid of Drennen and refocus back on Cleveland I think they may be alright. Let an established name like Greg Brinda take over and run it.
