Spring 2010 Ratings, 139 - Newburgh, 161 - Poughkeepsie

Ratings just out...Not too many big changes but the biggest take away is a MONSTER book for WSPK/K104 in both. PDH also down in Poughkeepsie. Obviously watered down stats and a 2 book average..but the picture speaks for itself.

anyone know how WSUL or WVOS did in Sullivan. two great stations

Thanks to Radio-Online for this. In the latest Spring book for Poughkeepsie, "K-104" is back on top once again! As for the downside of the ratings, WBPM is up from .9 to 1.2, congrats to the station for doing a defend job playing some "Dinosaur Rock" that won't fit the format as a "Classic Hits" format. It plays pop and rock, and it plays zero Motown and zero soul. No Michael Jackson, none of that. I should applaude CBS-FM for being the #1 station in New York City playing the right hits. And WBPM does not playing anything like the Captain & Tennile and all that stuff. Still plays some classic rock and they are still going to hurt WPDH. Get it straight! Or else WBPM will be the #1 station by 2012.

Being serious here: How much of an impact is the Hudson Valley book having on sales there days? I know in some areas being #1 or where on the list is great for the station, but it doesn't wow potential advertisers.

Anyone with any expertise know?

Hudson Valley book meaning Newburgh? Most national business is done off of the Poughkeepsie Arbitron metro. Being in the top two or three is meaningful. The market definitions are f'ed up.

And speaking of WBPM doing really bad, WRWD is doing well with the acception of CJ and the morning team, pretty good morning show, a lot better than Eric Hopkins which is on "The Wolf" right now. I don't like Eric Hopkins so much, because it sucks! I sticked to CJ on WRWD which is a fun show playing country music. I listened to it when I was driving my way to work. After I got out of work, I listened to "The Wolf" with Beth Christy in afternoon drive. "The Wolf" is doing okay in the lower 2's in the Spring book, but I don't like the way the station carries Yankees baseball from WCBS-AM when it is on FM when it sounds more FM when it is on CBS-FM's HD3 channel along with the New York Jets football which carries in the fall. There was no Cody Allen's "CMT Radio Live" during Yankees baseball, except on a few rain delays and after the game or on a game's night off. What are we going to do now, why not go to Danbury, CT and listen to Cody Allen on "Kicks 105.5". It has a good impact on his show. I hope the station should dump Yankees baseball soon. Put it on a "True Oldies Channel" on WEOK, and on WKNY in Kingston where they haven't carried Yankees baseball in a long time. If not, put it on WPDH instead.

disney fanatic please use a little punctuation to make your posts legible.

As to your Yankee question/suggestion, my bet is that they're not putting the Yanks on WPDH because the signifigantly larger # of pissed off listeners who don't want to listen to Yankee baseball outweigh any potential monetary gain. It's probably a money maker on The Wolf, though.
