Well, musically speaking, they could have a shot. But for how long?
Living in an area with THREE JACK stations (96.9 Vancouver, 103.1 Victoria and 96.5 Seattle), JACK is wearing on a lot of folks here. It isn't the music really, it's still pretty good and still does throw out a few surprises. It's that annoying voice-over on every JACK station that drives everybody as well as myself up a wall. I guess in Northwest WA/Lower Mainland-Vancouver Island, BC, we've put up with it a couple years longer than those folks down in Seattle/Tacoma, so it was that much more irritating for us when K-ROCK went to JACK. But JACK does need to use more creativity in it's voicers (and maybe even CHANGE the voice-over guy now and then.)

You have a point. But there are thousands of die-hard fans who will religiously listen to any M's game no matter how bad they suck. I'm just not one of them. I usually listen/watch and see in person Sonics games (Luke Ridenour RULES!) And I still haven't been to a Seahawks game in 7 years. When they finally get a season that at least brings them even CLOSE to a Super Bowl, then I'll consider shucking out a wad for tickets. Right now, I don't even bother with them.
Maybe KIRO was smart to get rid of the M's. Things just haven't been the same since Lou Pinella left (tough as he was, he really whipped those guys into professional shape and it showed.) It's really irritating now to watch commercials selling videos of their playoff victories in September 1995 when they haven't done as good since (1997 maybe, but nothing really big since.) They can only live off the fame and hope of their 1995 season for only so much longer at this rate without giving us something now that justifies a run on M's memorabilia and tickets.
We gave 'em a new stadium at taxpayer expense. We also pay huge ticket prices and insane prices for souvenirs, food and drink costs at Safeco Field to pad the players wallets while they give us one sucky year after another recently. They better not suck again this year like they did last year or KOMO (and everybody else) is probably going to want their money back.
BRING BACK LOU PINELLA!!
