Spring Book Billboards

Its Spring Book time and in Delaware that usually means a new crop of billboards for the radio stations. In the past, this has included not only Wilmington stations, but a few Philly stations as well (Sunny 104-5 figured promently several years ago).

So far this spring, in addition to WXCY, I have only seen new ads for WDEL, but they are clever. One in particular promotes Traffic Watch with the slogan "When you have to go..." and shows a little boy strapped in the seat with his hands placed so that you know "he has to go!" Another shows gas prices from a now past era with a "don't you wish" message. These ads are much more clever and attention grabbing than WDEL has used in the past.

Has anyone seen new billboards for the other players in town?

Nothing of recent vintage. I have to admit that I thought that once Clear Channel took over WILM/WWTX/WRDX/WDSD that we'd see far more advertising for those stations, especially WILM which hasn't really had any serious billboard advertising for some time. WDEL has been far more consistant in this area than WILM prior to CC and after CC took over.

I've seen three or four different boards around town for WDEL including a big one on 95 with a baby and an umbrella. Easy to read and good cute factor. WJBR is on DelDot buses but I'm not sure if that is a new campaign or not. WSTW has a board with a beach on it about a trip contest.

Anything out there for CC? I haven't seen any.
