Spring Book Coming

Any guesses for the Spring book numbers. Here are my guesses:

1. KCMS explodes. God is on their side
2. WOLF catches KMPS in every demo under 50.
3. MOVIN does twice as well as KLSY in their first big trend. For the book they will be up just slightly, KPLZ and KBKS in big trouble!
4. JACK is declining thanks to MOVIN
5. KOMO through the roof with Mariners in hunt still
6. KJR-FM down
7. KRWM solid as a rock
8 KMPS is DOWN DOWN DOWN (especially in the JUNE trend)
9. KPLZ is DOWN DOWN DOWN (especially in MOVIN JUNE trend)
10. KUBE is DOWN DOWN DOWN (especially in the MOVIN JUNE trend)

Yes friends, I am the new IKNOWITALL. Isn't it funny that when Mike Preston, Chris Mayes, Bill West, Robin and John and Gary Nolan leave town so do BushwickBill, IKNOWITALL and AM-FM on this board and others. Wonder who was who? They are gone and a new predictor is in town. Let's see how I do...Anyone want to step up and make their predictions?

2. BJ Shea has another solid book
3. MOVIN is flat. This will take a while
4. KCMS Huge
5. KBKS is HUGE (Marcus D is awesome)

7. KMPS DOWN
8. KJR-FM DOWN
9 KPLZ DOWN
10. KTTH kills KVI

Big Big book for Entercom with WOLF, KBSG, KTTH and KIRO in non-Mariner times winning big. KMTT and KISW remain solid.

Not that it matters, but here is a guess from a sales type, based on trends and historical evidence:

1. KOMO up thanks to Mariners
2. KCMS up thanks to a strong middle trend
3. KPLZ up thanks to a strong middle trend and KLSY leaving
4. KTTH up thanks to two strong trends
5. KVI down slightly
6. KMPS down slightly
7. WOLF flat or up slightly
8. KZOK flat or up slightly

Course none of this matters much since the four-book is all that really counts, but why not give predicting a try.
Too early to say if MOVIN will work. JACK seems to be fading, as everyone on this board predicted. The usual stations in Seattle remain strong buys.
Big question on my mind is who wins the Oldies battle: KJR-FM or KBSG? By the way, it is interesting that some long-time posters disappeared, when PD's disappeared in this market. I thought someone indicated iknowitall was Robin and Maynard just having fun. I do miss those posts, just for the laughs. Seems like we have some new PD's and talent posting under anonymous names, which makes this board have LOL.

It's hard to call KJR-FM an oldies station, but if you want to compare those two stations, it'll be KJR-FM. Entercom will likely blink on that format before Infinity will on Jack. The music and the rotations right now on KBSG are just expediting the downfall.

IKnowItAll wasn't Robin nor Maynard, just someone who chose to stay dormant. There have been muliple postings by one somewhat new morning show on this board, though.

Jack is failing around the country to deliver. Just ask CBS where jobs got the knife recently...that isn't a sign of blistering success guys.

KBSG be doing real good for an industry that thinks oldies are dead!

These are probably the same people who made Britney Spears (oops) a star.

Actually, it's FAR more due to the failure of the high-overhead Free FMs and loss of Stern revenue than low-overhead Jack stations.

Jack/LA is hardly a failure. Minneapolis' demos aren't bad, either.

I learned a long time ago to pay attention to the small words in sentences, words like "aren't bad" and "hardly a failure" aren't the number 1 way to describe success over one's enemy.

Let me be blunt guys, I don't play the same cards that all the double speaking vipers in this biz do, a dog is a dog, period.

Success is what success is, not what could be or might of been or should be. Ratings now, not later baby.

I know for a fact Iknowitall is not Robin, but Robin enjoyed the publicity. Iknowitall is now on the SF boards under a different name having a great time. AM-FM resides in the same city from what I understand. People come and go on these forums all the time. The important thing is giving them a forum to speak and then checking what they say. Let's see if I am Iknowitall reincarnated. I stand by my predictions.

Anybody who seriously thinks the WOLF will "own" anything "isn't" being real. Same with Movin'. About the only thing you have right is that KCMS will go up. As will KPLZ.

I think AQH talked about the KJR-FM vs KBSG battle and said KJR was the "winner". Not so fast. KBSG is retooling - they've dropped the "Oldies" moniker and are adjusting the music (again). Clearly 95.7 is the target - and the battle is just beginning.
