Spring Is Here: Baseball On The Air!

Counting the moments until the first Giants' spring training game goes on the air. The KNBR (680 AM) broadcast starts at 11:50 this morning.

Here's the KNBR schedule for the first five broadcasts (all begin at 11:50 a.m.):

Date Opponent Site
2/25/2009 CLEVELAND GOODYEAR
2/26/2009 LA DODGERS SCOTTSDALE
2/28/2009 SEATTLE PEORIA
3/01/2009 MILWAUKEE SCOTTSDALE
3/05/2009 OAKLAND A'S SCOTTSDALE

AND...according to my DirectTv, it's on the MLB Network too...at least this first game this afternoon.

The first Oakland A's broadcast on KTRB/860 is this Friday (Feb. 27), according to the station's website ... which has the A's on a page tellingly headed "Advertisers":

http://www.ktrb860.com/ktrbadvertisers/1538.html

The page says that Friday's broadcast is at noon (PST), and that KTRB "will broadcast all 162 regular season games, plus 18 spring training games."

The schedule on the page shows all of the spring training games, but doesn't flag those that will be broadcast by KTRB. (Do I have to guess? Weekends? Games against the Giants? Occasional weekday games? Hmmm?)
