Springer Co-hosting with McConnell today

Left meets right (or at least libertarian) on Premiere's "The Weekend with Mike McConnell" as Jerry Springer co-hosts the first hour and 20 minutes. Discussion mostly about the war. You might catch it later if your station delays the show.

Totally Useless

Thanks for nothing.

I never heard of this show. I have no idea when its on or what station might carry it. You posted information about it when the show was mostly over.

Apparently this is a Cincinnati program (according to a Google search). Maybe people on the Cincinnati board would know what you are talking about but you don't give the rest of us much to go by. No links for stations or audio streams. No information so somebody can know what you're talking about or find the program. Just a waste. (Now someone will post that I should take it easy and that you meant well. Next time think and then mean well.)

It was created 5 or so years ago, and CC talk show hosts
from all over the country would host one Saturday.. It's
where I was introduced to Glenn Beck.

But it never took off and McConnell ended up taking it over
even thought most CC affiliates dropped it.. I liked it

Sounds like an interesting idea

Better than the usual "best of." Dueling hosts. And a chance to hear somebody new/different. Good way to test talent.

He posted the syndicator - Premiere Networks (an arm of Clear Channel). It airs weekends 12-3 PM ET, sometimes delayed, on CC news/talkers in markets all over the country. Here, WTAM/Cleveland and WHLO/Akron both carry it at some point, time and placement depending on sports programming.

Mike McConnell's "day job" is as a midday host at CC's WLW/700 Cincinnati, and he originates "Weekend" from there, but it's a national show on Saturday.

It's the show that, as noted, used to feature various local Clear Channel hosts across the country in a rotation of sorts. McConnell took over the show weekly at some point in the past year or two, and CC moved it to Premiere, and sells it to non-CC stations. (Though, off the top of my head, I couldn't name a non-CC talker which carries it...)

I believe it's why glenn beck was put on a san diego station for awhile. Other hosts on The Weekend included Billy Cunningham, Roger Hedgecock, and this really funny dude , but I can't remember his last name Danny, something or other "He's an Idiot"

I think Denny Schaefer, formerly of CC's WSPD/Toledo and now at CC's WGST/Atlanta hosted at least once.

Re: Totally Useless

Not sure about most dropping it..seems to be on everyone around here, though this time of year it tends to get pre-empted by sports.
