Providence didn't provide ANY information of these nearby life-threatening storms until the newscasts. Even during the newscasts their coverage was spotty at best. It was pathetic. It's as if they were unaware that there were vicious, tornadic storms just on their doorstep.
I beg to differ. WJAR started cutting in during the 4 PM hour and then was live from 5-7:30, preempting Nightly News. They then had another update during the 7:30 hour.
And besides, the majority of the severe threat was not in the Providence DMA. The majority of that coverage was focused on Worcester county and Springfield. They're even field anchoring from Springfield at 11 tonight.
