Springfield Translator News

Slightly farther north, Saga's WHMP has applied for 101.5 and Phil Drumheller's WIZZ has applied for 101.3; ay, there's the rub!

It appears Phil Drumheller is now seeking a CP for 100.5. His daytimer at 1520 kHz in Greenfield could surely benefit from a translator.

How deep a null to the south will that signal need to have to avoid complaints from WRCH listeners?

I doubt there will be too many complaints. The proposed 45-watt signal will have a deep null toward Rattlesnake Mountain—considerably less coverage than what had been requested for 101.3. This is an unfortunate setback for a station that's already on life support.

Meanwhile, back in Springfield, WHLL has been granted a CP for a translator on 98.1 MHz. The new antenna will will be mounted on the WMAS/WHLL stick near the North End Bridge; its 250-watt signal will have significant nulls to the the south and east.

Saga's WHMP has applied for 101.5 …

Despite some tweaking, W268CZ's signal continues to have problems with cross talk from Saga's WRSY (Marlboro, VT).
