Spurs short season less ad $$$?

How does a short Spurs season effect 1200 WOAI's projected fanatasy revenue/earnings forecast? It is only human nature to roast your chickens even before they've been hatched or even laid, so when the Spurs season comes to a close on Wednesday night, WOAI will not be able to collect all of that extra extortion tribute for all of those commercial spots that would have been sold during the playoffs/finals. What about those annoying spots from Valero about 'free morning coffee' for every Spurs playoff victory? Shouldn't that be pulled from the lineup when the Spurs blow it? Are there any price reduction/discount/escape clauses written into the ad contracts when the Spurs lose games or wash out?

Update: Its seems that WOAI has already pulled the plug on the Spurs. M Taylor's aftergame react program was only about 10-15(?) minutes long. It usually runs about 20-30 minutes. He said what had to be said, took a few phone calls and then they went to whatever syndicated show was in already in progress. I can't stand Taylor, but at least he said what most of us locals feel. I could never stand having to watch the Spurs local broadcasts, (because the others were blacked out), and their brainwashed, slimy corporate paid mouthpiece hosts on TV. They only said the good, clean, happy propaganda about the Spurs. But when you watched a Spurs game on TNT, TBS, ABC or anywhere else, you heard the not only the positive comments, but also the not so pleasant, ugly truth about our home team, from national sportscasters, not local yokels.

Who said the Spurs are going to lose?
Considering they have to win 3 games against a tough opponent to advance, it seems verrry likely.

Are you taking any and all bets against them? ;D

KTKR and KZDC can't be too happy about the early exit, either. The appetite for local sports talk radio will really dry up if the Spurs exit the playoffs a full 3 months before the Cowboys training camp begins... assuming that there is an NFL season this fall.

Actually, I wouldn't want to be in the sports talk radio business at all if BOTH the NFL and NBA are locked out next season.

Maybe they'll do what most of the cable channels, (the weather channel, MTV, TV land, etc), do, forget about their format and broadcast the audio portion of some lame movie?

Too bad they lost.

Memphis sucks! OKC's gonna whoop their asses.

And the Spurs will win next year, no doubt.

Maybe another taxpayer funded arena and other corporate welfare handouts will help? Wake up, its over! This is 2011 not 1999!
