SS32 & RDS

Which one of the RDS systems is the best for SS32? Does it matter and what bells and whistles come with the more expensive unit? We are looking to do this on 3 stations using Scott. Thanks for your help!Steve

I looked into it at a station that I used to be at (AM FM with SS32's) and as long as the encoder accepts active data its not a deal which one.

You can just dump the SS32 "what's playing" into the RDS if you don't mind having "VOICE TRACK" or "KZZZ Promo" or "JOES CRAB SHACK CUT 234B" or "AXWAIT" scrolling on the RDS. AND you don't want to do any RDS only promos or imaging.Having software filter and cover non-music elements with station imaging is a real plus. Even can fix the occasional reversal of artist name so it displays right: After the software filter sees "ATKINS, TRACE" shows up as "TRACE ATKINS" on the RDS. Daypart station imaging and contest promos too!Somebody on the list should have a few software suppliers in mind. I'm at home and don't have that info.

Friday i talked with Scott Studios/Dmarc and they could only recommend the Inovonics 712 for use with our system. They said that it links online to their music information database and that they (scott) support the software package that comes with it. Is anyone using the Inovonics unit? Are there any bugs or things that are difficult to deal with? Thanks again for your input!Steve
