St. Augustine's True Oldies 105.5 Is On!!!

Seven Bridges Radio finally flipped the switch on 105.5 with True Oldies...sounds great already from what I hearing played off the feed from the True Oldies Channel. Nice to hear a radio station up here with this music back on finally! Later.

Thanks for the tip. I've just heard static until now.

I am actually sitting here at home (off AC Skinner near the old ABC25) with a Tivoli SongBook on my desk, and I can pick it up almost well enough to enjoy. Is that sick or what?! No way I should be able to receive this station in the shadow of Hogan Road. ::)

Now to find out what's happened with Fiesta.

First of all, realize I’m an old fart. I’ll be 60 before the end of the year.

I’ve listened to 105.5 for a few hours. All I can say is, it’s OK, as in, not half bad.

I personally don’t consider anything that was released before I got into radio in March of 1970 as an oldie.

Oldies, to me, are what I listened to in high school and junior high school.

I’ve got to give them credit. It’s been a long time since I was listening on my car radio, reached my destination, and waited in the car to see what was going to play next.

I heard a lot of dead air where there should have been local breaks, but I'm sure they will get that fixed soon.

Bob

Bob you are right about the dead air issue, its something I notice a lot, but grant it that Seven Bridges Radio is doing their best to get this to work right. I am sure they are working very hard right now to get local advertisers into the fold for the station. The music I have heard is not even bad at all considering its a satellite feed. It will be a growing time for Seven Bridges as they get into the fold of having a sports station AM/FM combo and a music station. I think in all they will have success for being a local company. Later.

Excellent point Bob. This is the kind of excitement I refer to when something different is offered to radio listeners.

For those of you who can pick up the station, enjoy it. Like the expression says, so close yet so far. I wish it came in better for me where I live. At least there's internet streaming.

P.S. Bob, congrats on surviving in radio at your age. Maybe the behind the scenes guys have a better survival rate than on the air talent. I'm trying to think who is 60+ and on the air in Jax playing FM music and no one comes to mind but then I'm not fully awake yet. ;)
