Since everyone's ears are pointed south for 94.1's flip, any news on 105.5?

G

Still simulcasting WRNR as of this afternoon.

As I mentioned on the Orlando thread, as of this week, they're still simulcasting WRNR 100%...NO local spots; all of WRNR's spots are being run..there's a dual top of the hour legal ID and that's it. Other than that, it's 103.1 WRNR all hour..

I'm sure the WRNR simulcast is there as a temporary placeholder until such time the permanent format and staff can be put in place. It's just a matter of time, most likely following FCC license transfer approval, when the full-time regular format will be on the air.

St. Augustine listeners are being treated to a NY station and hearing NY weather is interesting, so let's call this stunting. I think stunting time way over, its really old now and stinks!
Honestly this St Augustine station could have arrived with their imaging and music in a box. For the price they paid tinkering time is over.. Unless something else is up?

I don't believe the simulcast is a stunt. As I previously stated, I believe the current simulcast arrangement is simply a placeholder until such time the permanent format and staff can be put in place.

As for it being time for the current simulcast to come to an end, the fact is none of know what is occuring behind the scenes. There may be legal, financial or any number of other sensitive issues that may be prolonging the planned station launch which the public is not privy to knowing, which includes each of us. Keep in mind this station is (or was) in receivership, and any final sale is subject to the Federal Bankruptcy Court approval in addition to being subject to FCC license transfer approval.

Good you found their address. Now you know it's not a NY station.

Point well taken, you win..lol

dang, i wished i could hear this station in altamonte a lot more. but 105.5 from tampa is coming in most times. i really hope there is a good format on 105.5 i remember back in 99 they were hot country. hopefully this format can last over 4 years. it has seemed like since 2008 they have had a new format every year.

It sounds like they are doing rhythmic CHR during the few times I've listened. Personally I like the music but wonder what the point is in trying to go up against APE and Kiss.

In the 4 minutes I've been listening, it sounds very Hot AC to me Gnarls Barkley "Crazy" into Goo Goo Dolls "Iris". Could be dayparted.. I will try to listen again, though the ustream just went offline.

I only listened while driving back from near St. Augustine and heard a lot of "turbo-pop" which I loved but at the time it sounded like APE and Kiss..maybe I just didn't get a good overview.

Their focus is St.Johns and Flagler counties. Ratings won't be a big factor, working with local directs will count more.

Even still the format duplicates Jacksonville stations that boom into St.Johns and Flagler.

You have to wonder why did they choose more of the same? And with the average age like 45-50 I'm not sure CHR was the best choice.
