Mixed feelings here.

On the one hand, these were great shows and it's good to see them back on. It's been a while. And I do like Howie Mandel better with hair.

On the other hand, I hope American Life has not decided to move it's programming ahead in time (like Nick-at-Nite and TV Land have done) and drop the classic shows from the 50s and 60s in favor of TV from the 80s. It's great seeing Maverick and the other WB westerns again.

They should also bring back:
The George Burns - Gracie Allen Show
The Jack Benny Program
The Adventures of Robin Hood (Richard Greene)
The REAL Honeymooners (get rid of the color Honeymooners)
The Lone Ranger
Sergeant Preston of the Yukon
Dragnet ("My partner's Frank Smith" version)
The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet
Make Room for Daddy (Jean Hagen episodes)
You Bet Your Life
Topper
Have Gun Will Travel
Our Miss Brooks
The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp
You'll Never Get Rich/The Phil Silvers Show (Sergeant Bilko)
Broken Arrow
The Real McCoys
Wanted Dead or Alive
Peter Gunn
Naked City
Route 66
Zorro
The Rebel
M Squad
Wagon Train (Ward Bond and Robert Horton episodes)
The Untouchables
Rawhide
Robert Taylor's Detectives
The Defenders
Car 54, Where Are You?
Petticoat Junction (Black and White episodes)
Hazel

There are some other shows, fondly remembered, which I don't think would hold up and are best left to memory.
But there are a lot of great shows, still worth see, that have not been on TV in a long time. Family LIfe does not need to update, or to run all those !@#$ cooking shows and infomercials.

I wonder why American Life shows every show only once a week. It would take at least 3 years for them to show a whole cycle of shows since the 3 shows mentioned had more than 150 episodes with L.A. Law close to 200 episodes.

I thought that the Sleuth Channel carried Hill Street Blues and L.A. Law as well. If they don't, they need to. Once a week for reruns just doesn't get it.

And I noticed that all 3 of the shows are distributed by FOX (MTM Productions). Does this foreshadow a sign for other shows in the MTM library like Mary Tyler Moore, Lou Grant, The White Shadow, WKRP, Bob Newhart Show, Newhart, Rhoda, and Phyllis to be coming to American Life?

Darn!

I don't have AmericanLife TV Network! All I have is basic cable in my apartment in Andalusia Alabama and at my grandmother's house in Elba Alabama it's not there either. I used to have Directv but we got rid of it when my grandmother moved from the country to town. I wish Fox would do L.A Law on DVD. Hill Street Blues is already on DVD. Heck, why not L.A Law, yeah the reunion movie from 02 was on DVD but that's not enough. I would like to see the series on DVD.

American Life gets really poor clearance. Neither DirecTV or Dish has it. None of the cable system in this region have it. I couldn't get it until FIOS became available (and it was a big part of the reason I got FIOS).

To American Life's credit, they do show different episodes of "I Spy" each week, Wed at 8pm and Sun at 6pm. "Combat" also gets a few plays through the week and the wee small hours.

I just noticed two more vintage programs on their schedule:

" It's a Great Life", with Frances Bavier and "The Lone Wolf" (TV.com says about it..."Michael Lanyard better known as the Lone Wolf is a rapscallion gentleman who travels the World to fight the proponents of crime."

It's best you consult www.americanlifetv.com for the exact times of these programs.
