St. Louis getting John Rooney

John Rooney, former PBP for the Chicago White Sox, has signed on as PBP for the Cardinals next season. Looks as if he will be replacing Wayne "I can't believe it, he dropped the ball!" Hagin. Ironically, Hagin and Rooney worked together in 89 to 91 on the Sox' broadcasts.

Sounds to me like the Cards consider the Sox a farm team for broadcasters.

Payback for Harry Carey - I think he started was in St. Louis before the Sox then Cubs.

Harry spent one year in Oakland after leaving/being fired by St. Louis. Back in his St. Louis days, Harry was one of the best ever. For those who only remember his final days with the Cubs, you missed a great one. Every bit as good as people like Jack Buck, Bob Costas, etc. He was THAT good.
