St. Louis Radio Is Boring

Everything on the friggin dial bores the pi** out of me. I cant take it anymore. ktrs? Please. KSHE? PLEASE! JC? DONE OLD AND BORING. KFTK? Interesting sometimes, but NOT entertaining. Since boob gate, every damn radio station in the Country sucks, but St. Louis radio has to be the worst in the top 30 markets by far. Someone needs to wake this city up and hire some people with some attitude and ballz. Make it end.

Are there any jazz, or Adult R&B Stations in the market? I'd be curious to know what they're playing.

Thanks for your opinion, KK.

There are two adult R&B outlets - Clear Channel's heritage Urban AC KMJM "Majic 104.9", and Radio One's "Foxy 95.5"

St Louis is alot better than Boston . There No R&B station in Boston . O what the hell , There only one good radio station in Boston( outside of pirates and College stations ), and its not a music station ( sports Radio WEEI ) .

You hate St. Louis so much? Here's a suggestion - move! It's just better that way.

I dont know why anyone would want to live in ST Louis anyway with their high crime rate. Plus its a dirty ghetto full of abandoned buildings and junky trashy apartments and houses, homeless people and drug users . The west suburbs arent too bad, but the inner city and east St Louis is horrible. ??? And to top that off, you cant find a decent job there. I was there for about a year, and I actually went back to boring azz indiana, thats how bad it is.

While I live in southern NH (Boston Market), I get to St. Louis at least once a year because my parents and other family members live there, in the burbs. When I’m there I usually listen to KDHX 88.1, which I find a most interesting station. I also sometimes listen to their stream when I’m at home.

I don't think he said anything about hating St. Louis, he just mentioned that the radio stations are boring.

When I went to STL last March, I liked the St Louis stations much better than my local New York or Philly stations. I wish KLOU 103.3 was still oldies.

I think the crime rate is exagerated. The unsafe parts are in a very concentrated area. Have never had any problem where I live. As far as decent jobs, there are decent jobs for those with the talent. Maybe you are just not ready for St. Louis, no offense. (totally assuming you are a jock)

Forgive me, but what is boob gate anyway?

What about 1430? They don't stream, but somebody told me that it sounds VERY GOOD.

BoobGate is Janet Jacksons "wardrobe malfuntion" during the Superbowl some years back.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

88.1 is interesting for more eclectic tastes, 89.1 is a pretty nice AAA mix, 93.3 is a more diverse alternative (though I really wish they'd play a wider spectrum of the music they've always played, can you imagine an alt rocker with that wide a playlist?) Seems like sometimes 93.3 will play songs for awhile then drop them. 105.7 - used to have good specialty shows, now they're back to being more of an active rock/hard alt station which isn't my taste but some people like. I'd like to hear their HD2 but it doesn't seem to be streaming.

It's not just St. Louis, it's everywhere. unfortunately to compete with ipods and sirius/xm, stations are losing the one thing that makes them different from those competitors....the development of unique radio personalities that are localized. Even talk radio is syndicating like crazy, getting away from local talk. Radio needs to step out of the box, instead of trying to copy what listeners already can get.

WSIE-FM 88.7, owned by Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, runs the sole jazz station in the market.
