With the U of Phoenix ending their deal with the Cardinals, busy minds at the Buckeye Media Hut are wondering what new name will be heard on KMVP 98~Seven during the regular season? Some suggestions:

Cardinals Stadium...now wouldn't that be non-commercially appropriate?

It's Great To Have Mac & Gaydos In the Stadium, Stadium

University of Arizona Stadium...after all, they are the AZ Cardinals

Glendale's Last Great Hope Stadium...'yotes are out after next year

Joseph M Arpaio Ego Containment Stadium...with funding provided by Grant Woods & Greg Stanton

Light Rail Doesn't Go Here Stadium....well, it doesn't

You've Got A Winner In Town Stadium....lest we forget

Beans 'n Rice Stadium...free parking if you drive a beater

Hey, get off our roll out grass field Stadium

Taxpayers Stadium....hmmm, the Nurse & I really like this one


We're sure there's more where these came from, so get out your checkbook and chose the new stadium name!
 
How about "The House That Taxpayers Built?" Oh... wait... that would apply to all of them. :D
 
What I've never understood is why media people play along with this "naming" racket. Some advertiser pays big bucks to the entity that owns the public building. We in the media meekly give endless plugs gratis. Why don't radio stations give the place a nice generic name like the Glendale Ball Park? If some bank or soft drink wants advertising we'll be delighted to sell it to them.
