Stadium Sampler Program?

Does anyone know what program they use at stadiums to play sfx & music? I would think first of a piece of hardware but a friend who was the PA at a local minor league team said they used something on a computer. Any ideas? If it wasn't the weekend, I'd try and call a ballpark.

There are several programs out there that mimic cart decks that we used to use on air. Some of them are even freeware like SonicCart 2.0 from http://www.babyfishmouth.co.uk/

There's another one out there that I've used. The freeware version limits you to 3 slots available to load at a time, but you can save play lists and run multiple versions of the software at the same time. For the life of me I can't remember the name of the software right now and can't seem to find any hint of it by Googling the net. But I used it on air at Double Q Country in Alliance, NE about a year ago. The station was satellite except for news blocks at 7am, noon and 5pm. I used the program to play back Paul Harvey, the recorded local news & sports casts, and several short syndicated programs that were either recorded from satellite feeds or downloaded from the syndicator's websites. Local commercials I still played off the DCS Automation system so they would show up in the traffic manager's report. But the DCS was a clunky system for live assist so the freeware made for a more enjoyable experience.

Perhaps you'd want to try DRS 2006's digital cart program. It's a free download, and last I knew, there weren't any limitations on how many decks you could use (and if I recall correctly, there are 20 decks in the program, maybe more or less). I have the full automation system myself, and I love it... especially the cart program.<P ID="signature">______________
