I have felt for a long time that Pittsburgh would support a well done commercial AAA. WYEP is weak, more interested in some cases in being the station where someone can do a show and list 300 bands no one has ever heard of.

This article about Stage AE shows that a lot of the bands that would be the core for that format are actually able to sell tickets here, even with no local airplay...

I think CC knows this too.... DVE sneaks in a song every couple of hours that would be on a AAA station rather than a classic rocker.

Somebody get me a signal.......
 
But is it the bands, or is it the new and improved venue?

IC Light Ampitheater was a yukky place to see bands play and lots of people just decided they'd rather not waste their money.
