Stan Lee (1922-2018)

this is one of those deaths you knew was coming, but it's still sad. guy got to live a long life and had a great life. RIP Stan, you will be missed, but your legacy will live on with Marvel.

I don't know why I watched the show, because I wasn't interested in superheroes, but when I was a teenager there was a "Spider-Man" TV series (after someone was ruled incorrect on "password" hosted by Regis Philbin, I know to hyphenate it; hyphenated words were not allowed on that show). Homer Simpson sang a version of its theme song called "Spider-Pig", so it was actually a well-known series. I later found out it was a 1960s series and what I was seeing after school were reruns. Back in the 60s the only superheroes I watched were The Impossibles, Frankenstein Jr., The Mighty Heroes, Underdog, Mighty Mouse and Shazzan. I discovered George Reeves' show later.

When the movies were made, I was glad I had watched the series back in the 70s because the movies were more meaningful.

Personally, I can't understand why people like this junk. It seems to be fallout from the depressing 1930's and 40's and equivalent to Hollywood's Film Noir period.

And before anyone gets their panties in a wad please note that I am criticizing his work and not the man.
