Standards back in Buffalo

WECK just switched to a standards format this morning. Using the slogan "Timeless WECK".the morning show is live with Tom Donahue, a holdover from the previous format. This morning a nice mix..Elvis, Henry Mancini, Rod Stewart(doing standards)Eydie Gorme,Nilson, Barbra Streisand,Gordon Lightfoot, etc.

It's nice to hear music like this over the air. I wish every market could have a station like this. It would add quite needed diversity and would make a lot of people over 50 very happy. Now, if only advertisers would acknowledge this very large group of people.

WHLI on Long Island and KAAM in Dallas have nice standards formats. I wish there were more. Congratulations on WECK for bringing this music back. Of course they should have done it when WHLD switched to sports last January. Why the wait? Strike while the iron's hot!

It's Dial Global..... Jeff Rollins, et all.

As I recall, WECK was a Westwood One affiliate toward the end of its first run with the format, so this is sort of a return to its roots.

I'm glad the format is getting another shot in Buffalo.
