Sad news. I heard he had been ill for awhile. For those who never had a chance to listen to WCTM, it was a very interesting little station broadcasting a mix of ag programming and easy listening with a War Games-style computer voice doing a time and temp check after every two-three songs.
His FM station was sold in the 70s to Great Trails Broadcasting and eventually became Dayton's Z-93. The AM incarnation came in the early 80s and pretty much picked up where the FM left off until he sold it a few years back.
He's buried at Sugar Grove Cemetery (Ohio State Route 503 North) on the northside of West Alexandria, Ohio east of Eaton. Wasn't able to make it to the visitation nor the funeral. (my wife was hospitalized and her health issues were first priority) I'm sure Stanley would have understood.... he cared for his wife Helen in her later years before she passed on in the late 80s. Stanley missed her dearly. Will visit his grave sometime after my better half recuperates.
