Star 100.7 becomes WBZZ on Jan 19th

Star 100.7 becomes WBZZ on Jan 19th

As an addition to the WBZZ info that is on the discussion board . Star 100.7 will be doing station re-branding using the return heritage WBZZ calls from Albany, NY, starting this Wednesday, January 19 as Star 100.7 WBZZ.

Re: Star 100.7 becomes WBZZ on Jan 19th

If they're still going to call it Star (cheesiest name ever) why did they go to the bother of getting the old call letters??

Re: Star 100.7 becomes WBZZ on Jan 19th

How about a rebrand like "Z100.7", "B100.7", "100.7 WBZZ" or "100.7 The Buzz"? They'd fit the Adult CHR format just fine :)

I would agree. I always thought "Star" was cheesy. Z100.7 or B100.7 would be better.

Hasn't stopped them from holding onto the old WZPT call letters after dropping the old "Point" identity.

Yes, but that's the opposite situation. They just did nothing and changed their station imaging. That makes sense as they're basically saying "who cares about call letters?" Now, they went to the EFFORT of getting the WBZZ calls back and according to this, they're not going to do anything with them. It's kind of like buying a new car and not driving it.
