This station must not care about the ratings, 0.5 in the latest book...I own the owner lives and works in NYC. But if it were me, I'd clean house. Go all music with no jocks...I realize that their signal is weak. I also believe that they have 5,000 watts or less to work with. Wow.
Remember that Saratoga/Glens Falls is either unranked (or considered Albany market); Star is a Saratoga/Glens Falls-targeted station, not an Albany targeted station
Star has a pretty good signal however... maybe Christmas music would help come November? Maybe a new format is in order? I wish
Remember that Aribtron uses the diary method to survey the Albany market so heavy investments in advertising and marketing along with a big signal tend to influence the top-of-mind audience awareness which impact the unaided recall necessary for diarykeepers to fill out their book. WQAR's focus is on generating ad dollar support from local businesses in Saratoga county and South Glens Falls. It's unusual not to hear the Star 101.3 in local stores. That 0.5 doesn't tell the real story.
Reporter, did you get fired from 101.3? You seem to hold a grudge against the station..just curious! Every post, you just have negative comments, and only toward 101.3, just curious!
THat's no reason to speak disparegingly(sp?) about them. So what if they don't have 25,000w or more? I get them fine in Rotterdam and around Albany. As previously posted-- Albany is not their target market. I don't think they're any better or worse than B95.... whose playlist (IMO) is very repetitive.
101.3 also has their Sunday jazz show which has become more popular with time, and is now 1 hour longer than its always been. ;D
