Star 94 Morning Show?

So when does the new Star 94 morning show start? I hear from a friend that they're all here in Atlanta and doing stuff together around town... when do they go in the studio and get to work? You'd think because of the dismal ratings that they want someone in there ASAP. With Atlanta being PPM they could start to make a difference right away if they can get a few meters listening. Seems odd that they'd wait so long.

Anyone have any insight?

Yes it started Wednesday, the 28th.

And I can't speak of how successful they might be, in terms of ratings and listenership value. Personally, I'm not expecting it to start strong (see facebook page). Changes in radio takes time to build on and get itself to attract it's listeners. We'll see how it goes. I wish Star the best of luck and I think Entercom is the best direction to go! I hope there deal gets approved soon!

From the first few shows, I thought they did really well considering it's so early. I expect this to be Star 94's best morning show since Steve & Vikki. The tone seems exactly right for what Star is doing now, and the cast seems talented.

That said, it's not going to be easy, and patience will be required for the show to succeed. I'm thinking Entercom (and possibly CBS if they will eventually own the station) has been totally in the loop. I can't imagine these folks taking the job if they thought job security was an issue.

One thing I think they might be getting wrong is saying in a promo that the show is about "life OTP." OTP is of course Star's target area and where their listeners tend to reside. But can't they target OTP without taking the chance of alienating listeners ITP by saying that's what they're doing?

Agree with Roddy's post to the letter. This is a talented and promising crew. Naturally they have some kinks to work out from the first three shows, but they already have personality and humor befitting a Top 10 market. Bert is not as vulnerable as Steve & Vikki were 10-15 years ago, and Star currently faces an uphill battle even after the morning show signs off. But with time, there's no reason this show can't carve out a following and be competitive. I'm glad they're here.
