Star 98.7 attempting a comeback?

In case any of you hasn't been paying attention, they have added SIX currents to the rotation in the past week - more than over the past FIVE months combined!

CC has done a GREAT job of running this station into the ground, especially over the past year, being more concerned with losing listeners to JACK FM than retaining or trying to acquire new listeners... As anyone can see, their "strategy" has backfired big time, with their ratings falling to an all-time low this past quarter (24th) as a result... Until this past week, the station was more stale than a month old loaf of bread, with the only currents being James Blunt, Rob Thomas and the once a week spike of "Dirty Little Secret"...

One can only hope this is the beginning of good things for the station and not the beginning of the end.

Wow, I'm glad something is happening! All the ratings I've seen recently have been nothing short of shambolic. I hope we see a return to form, because the station is very poor compared with a few years back (pre-Seacrest departure)<P ID="signature">______________

Yeah, if the station sinks any further into the ground, it would be in danger of going another format. BTW, found the spike of DLS is actually happening on a syndicated show Sunday mornings 7-9 AM... so they aren't officially playing it... hoping they will add that new Jewel very soon.

And rumors about that are already surfacing, see the LA Board for more info.

I'll check it out... thanks for the heads up... a couple of new adds in K.T. Tunstall and the new Nickelback as I'm sure you know last week... also added Anna Nalick's "Breathe (2am)" to the rotation only a year late... Interestingly, they haven't played one of the station's biggest songs ("I Don't Want To Be") in about 3 months... wonder why that is??? I'm thinking they erroneously left this out of their rotation and the people at CC aren't smart enough to figure it out.

Out of the 1's and 18th ranked in the market now... turns out this station did have some life left in it... it just took some major retooling and reimaging... the station sounds fresher these days as do the DJ's... I can see mid 2's and even top 15 in the not too distant future if they continue on their current path. Bravo!
