Star 98.7-Flip?

All About Country and other sources say says KYSR may flip country.
Talk is expected and needed!!!!!

It's all about what they think they can bill. KYSR's strong Santa Clarita signal makes it the best choice of the CC stations. If they can generate $30-$35 mil/year - it might be worth a shot. I see better, long term options though.

Isnt their return to Modern Ac less than a year old?. I dont know if I can see them spending all of that money to promote and then to change the format again, then again it is Clear Channel, anthing is possible.

Star was up over $40 a year back around 2002 and 2003, and may not even make $20 this year. They need a pretty big turn around to get the results they need.

The rumor (more so it seems now) is running furiously around CC Burbank. People are staring to talk and plenty of people are nervous. It's expected to happen in the next couple of days. Better start constantly monitoring Star and KBIG. If one changes, the other will also see changes. Maybe we'll see Tuna doing Country mornings and Whoopi as the answer to RIck Dees. We'll see.

Several meetings at another station considering a flip to Country were put on hold because this "rumor" was so strong. Those "in the biz" are hearing a "surprise" flip at anytime. Word has it everything is in place with the exception of air-talent. Much more to come by Monday...

Does anyone know if Brad Chambers is still employed at CC in LA? If so, he could be a possiblity for PD. He used to program KPLX in Dallas and WRBT in Harrisburg, PA. Just to name 2 of his country stations.
