Star 99.9-Morning Show

I am not inthe radio business, I'm just a listener, so can some one explain how the no talent woman on this show continues to keep her jon while other get laid off?
For what it's worth CTyankeefan, those of us in the business are just as perplexed.
When Mike Mcgowan was on vacation during the holiday season Jason Drew subbed for Mike with Marit. I wouldn't be surprised if in the wake of Mcgowan being gone, that program director Chris Egan pairs Jason Drew with Marit full-time making the show " The Most Music Morning Show with Jason and Marit."

The funny thing is ever since Star got rid of John Harper every incarnation of their morning show has been a train wreck to various degrees. Norm and WEBE easily garner an easy audience in the morning, most especially during inclement weather.
Out of 8 different places I go out to eat breakfast at I would say at least 7 of them have WEBE on.

Wow, another post from Bill DeFelice talking about how great WEBE and his old pal "Norm" are. Give me a break. I'm sure all of the "7 out of 8" places you eat breakfast have WEBE on because the "Stormin' Norman Traffic and Weather Show" are so fascinating!

Sounds like you have some axe to grind, SoNo. My observation on Star's morning show would be the same whether or not I had any association with the station or the personnel at BOTH Star and WEBE. As someone who has actually worked in the biz I have seen a variety of stations mis-managed and my observation that Star has yet to hit the right combination to make a sizable dent in WEBE's morning audience is supported by ratings and not just by any statement I make here. I suppose if you either had some longstanding broadcast background or the able to actually look with insight on the landscape of Connecticut broadcasting you'd have something more relevant to bring to the thread instead of attacking me and my observation.
Star 99.9 as a whole sounds like a mess. I'm not a regular listener, but sometimes I turn them on they sound like an AC station. Other times they sounds like a CHR. They need to pick one direction and run with it. Or blow up the thing all together and start with a completely different format.

They're 80's 90's and today. they key word being 'today' meaning mainstream. What else would you want from them?
