Star 99.9 Most Music Morning Show Does Not Really Sound Different:

I listened to the morning show on Star 99.9 today. Except for two new voices, the show pretty much sounded the same.

What Happened to John Harper? When was he let go from the station?

According to my inside info, John was "released" as they felt he was too old to relate to the target demo. Hmmm, 10 years and can't relate to the target demo, eh? Smells like a lawsuit to me!

Personally, I don't think Tony Tersi is as good.

I had heard the same "inside info" about the age thing. My speculation is that it may be a $$$ thing as well.

I can't figure those people being dumb enough to get rid of a voice that everybody in the market would recognize and feel comfortable with (this must be the geniuses in Georgia as I cant figure this being a local decision - when somethings not broke you don't fix it). If its not just the money there would have to be anther reason which still wouldnt sit well with me. I hope he turns up somewhere else as he's got some great pipes and a friendly manner on the air from thelast time I heard him.

It appears that Starr morning show host John "K" Harper has been outted from his morning show post. Harper, a decade long host on the Cox-owned station, apparently was fired without any feasible reason given to him. Harper (a/k/a Kazinsky) did work also outside the Bridgeport area (ARB Market #121) is sure to land a new gig - perhaps WEBE will snap him up to bolster the fact they already have ex-99.9 personality Elisabeth Yates on the weeknights live when they flipped the switch on syndicated program of Delilah. Maybe CC would put him on KC101FM to try to get a little more sophistacted listener in the morning.
