Star and Buck Wild- Show Over

Q

I am not too familiar with the cast of the Star and Buck Wild Morning Show, but Buck (I guess) had to leave early today and before he left said "good-bye" to Star and wished him well in his future endeavors. Star tried to hush him up and basically told him he had a big mouth. I guess the rumor of the end of the morning show as we know it is true.

Ah well... no big loss... if anything, this could be the beginning of even better days for Pulse... time will tell ....and I've thought this from the beginning they NEED more PROMO dollars to get themselves MORE known!! that's all.

as some one already has posted on this board, Jewels Lopez is no longer on the Pulse 87 website either. If my sources are correct even more people well soon be off their website. Seems like the only full timers willing to stay aboard are the dj's that fell into the scene some how & know they've go no where else to go.

oh well...

I'm going to say this....

There are those of that may either love or hate Star, but somehow for Pulse, it worked out with him there! I had my doubts on this but IT DID!

Secondly, if you are a dance music fan....then you are URGED to go to Plumm (246 W. 14th Street) on Monday, October 20th from 6P - 11P during the last of Star's after work parties. I will be there and have even urged everyone who is part of the coalition to take attendance.

Something is going on there. And in the event we happen to lose Pulse, we can start taking some sort of action immediately to make noise for a new outlet. I am hoping that is not the case but stranger things have happened in radio.

Tony, I really don't think we're "lossing" Pulse just yet and I seriously doubt that's what Monday's announcement has anything to do with. I don't think the station would be eluding to something like that on the air. Star said good bye today and talked about a big announcement on Monday, I don't think the two are DIRECTLY related as much as some out there think. But we'll see.

Has anyone else heard Star on the radio all week saying how much he loves "Rap" music? I also don't think Big Boy is doing well on Hot 97. Could this be a tell tell sign of Monday's big announcement?

Stupid question, but do I have to be over 21 to go to that event at Plumm?
I hope Pulse 87 won't become a hip hop station, like we need any more than 2 in New York.

How long did we think a station on the audio portion of Channel 6 (where half the digital radios can't tune it) could survive??? The beginning of the end. Just spin the roulette wheel of languages to find out what format replaces it.

Can't tell you. I went on the Pulse 87 website to find out info about Plumm and everything about Star and Buck Wild is off their site.
so I don't know what age you need to be

Well I think my assumption that Monday won't be the beginning of the end of Pulse 87 (just yet), has just been confirmed by what I just heard on the station a few moments ago. There was an advertisement for businesses interested in starting partnerships Pulse 87 moving forward and further promoting dance. So whatever the MAJOR announcement is on Monday, I'm not sure it's going to be negative (like Tony is fearing). HOwever, once again we'll see. ALSO, they already totally hinted on this morning's show that Star and BucK Wild would not be returning pretty much while ALSO saying that a MAJOR announcement is coming Monday and to stay tuned. So not sure it's concerning them COMPLETELY, either. hmmm....

And from what I may be hearing, Musik187 MAY be right. Things are going to seem "empty" without Star and Jewelz. But I do think the station will be on the air Monday. That's why I'll be paying close attention to Monday's announcement and see what happens.

Sorry for my being scared. It's all based on past history ('KTU with Broadway Bill Lee being let go and Vic Latino leaving) as well as what happened with the fans of oldies when 'CBS flipped to Jack without any warning. I do have a responsibility to the dance music fans of New York so if something was to happen, I wanted things to be "cushioned" instead of popping out of nowhere.

WGLI.....you can blame the signal, blame the dial position, blame the economy, blame car manufacturers that do not have 87.7 in their car stereos. But whatever happened has NOTHING to do with dance music. I know you didn't push the blame there but I'm saying that in the event others are going to start thinking that...it wasn't the format!

They're saying that there will be a major announcement on Monday, and Major World is one of Pulse's biggest sponsors...any coincidence?

maybe you can get him to give away free cars to everyone in your Coalition!! :):)

(in that Major World screaming guy mode....)

YES!!! SUPPORT PULSE 87 AND THE COALITION AND YOU TOO CAN DRIVE OFF IN A 2009 VEHICLE OF YOUR CHOICE! AND IF YOU CAN GET FINANCING, THAT'S GREAT THAT YOU ROBBED A BANK TO DO SO BECAUSE NO ONE WANTS TO LEND ANYTHING!

(noticed how those commercials disapppeared all of a sudden) :-\

"Gas for just 95 cents per gallon for up to the next 2 years. Check out our thousands of quality plus pre owned cars. Get it now at MAJOR WORLD of Long Island City. 440 Northern Boulevard Queens."

They played that ad so often on Pulse 87 that I memorized it word for word :-/

What time on Monday will they air the major announcement?

I honestly don't know. I'll be driving in around 6AM or so, which was the start time for the Star and Buc Wild show, though if it's a traditional sort of announcement, it's usually that 7:20 time.

Don't quote me on the time....just guessing it could be 7:20.

But since I'm at work by then if someone can e-mail me (I made a thread for that), I would appreciate it since I get e-mails on my phone.
