DJ Star
Once and future radio personality DJ Star says he'd like the world to have a better idea of who he is and isn't.
For several years, he was one of the most successful and controversial personalities on hip-hop radio. Then last year he became the "shock jock" fired from WWPR and arrested after graphic on-air remarks about the young child of rival host DJ Envy on WQHT.
Truth is, he says, he's not a hip-hop guy and he's not a shock jock. "I'm an entertainer," he says. As for those remarks, which he says were "taken out of context," they were "exactly the kind of thing Clear Channel knew I had always done and in fact hired me to do."
He has filed several lawsuits, including one against Clear Channel, and he says that's one reason he isn't back on the radio yet.
