Star Trek Question

Well, history (and Wikipedia) shows that WSM-TV (now WSMV) signed on in 1950, and was an NBC affiliate from the beginning. If that's true, and since Star Trek premiered on September 8, 1966, then one would logically (pun intended) assume that WSM-TV broadcast the first season of Star Trek.
 
However, a few stations, primarily in the southern states, pre-empted Star Trek over the casting of an African-American in a high-profile role.
