Star tweaks!

I thought somthin was up when they started playing Ushers "Yeah"!! After flowing through There playlist it seems the 9to5 is history and so is all of there 70s gold! They seem to have increased the reps of newer music and reduced the amount of gold, basicly going back to what they were doing 4 years ago.. Anyone else notice this?

Makes sense to go to more current and recurrent music, as a way Star can differentiate itself from more gold-heavy stations like WJYE or a classic hits station like WHTT.

Star needs to make a move. They've been on a steady slide now for over a year. Yeah, I know all about the demos, etc. Their biggest problem may be Kiss, who's demos are inching upward and desperately needs an under-40 morning show.

This is just a guess, but I think Star would rather have a steady decline that is expected to hold at a specific ratings point, instead of ending up being the format of the week station with an actual format change.

Look what happend to 92.9 FM over the years...

Yeah, but it was fun and challenging doing it! ;D

with an actual format change

As in the "All New JYE".... (tell 'em, they'll believe it)

;D ;D ;D

The thing I really apreciate, is that the Alice @ 92.9 days included radio announcers, even with their low(er) ratings.

Today's Jack FM is fully automated! Yuck!

Anyway, getting back to Star...
