Star Vs Q100

Star 94 is--in my opinion--an adult top 40 station. Yes, the music does straddle the fence between top 40 and hot AC. But do hot AC stations play Destiny's Child and Usher, and songs like Hollaback Girl, as Star does? I don't think most do.

But aside from the music, Star has a CHR presentation, which gives the station a CHR sound. The station's imaging presents Star as a CHR. And Radio & Records classifies Star 94 as a CHR. That's decided by R&R and not by Star 94.

And Star 94's execution of its format is excellent. Whatever Star is doing, it's been doing it very successfully against a very lucrative target audience for years.

Q100 of course is a true top 40 station in that it plays the top 40. The power increase should be interesting. Q100--again in my opinion--is a much better station than its ratings reflect.

Now based on how people on this board react, I'm working for both Star 94 and Q100. And I'm both Dan Bowen and Dylan Sprague.

Yeah, and I'm Drew, that guy who used to do afternoons on Magic 98.1... wait, we're making fun now?
